The National Association of State Contractors Licensing Agencies (NASCLA) created this award to recognize innovation, creativity and excellence in the regulation of the contracting/construction industry. Public sector contractor licensing agencies are invited to nominate agencies that have demonstrated these attributes according to the criteria listed below.
2012 Award Nominations
NASCLA will be presenting the 7th Annual Innovation in Regulation Award at the 2012 Annual Conference in Bend, Oregon on Thursday, October 4.
Award Selection Criteria
- The nature of the program(s) generally characterizes the goals and values of NASCLA
- Actions for which you are nominating the agency must have occurred between May 2010 and May 2012
Award Selection Procedures
All nominations will be reviewed & scored by the NASCLA 2012 Awards Selection Committee. The award recipient will be notified approximately one month prior to the Awards ceremony taking place on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at NASCLA’s 50th Annual Conference Banquet.
Submission Requirements
In order to ensure the fair and thorough evaluation of all nominees for the NASCLA Innovation in Regulation Award, the following materials must be submitted.
- Completed Award Nomination Form
- Submit a statement (on letterhead) that describes the reason(s) your nominee deserves to receive this award. Include the following information:
- Briefly describe the regulatory scope and mission of the agency
- Explain in detail the innovative program(s)implemented between May 2010 and May 2012
- Describe any challenges or special circumstances that had to be overcome to ensure the success of the program(s)
- Provide a description of the improvements or results due to the implementation of the program(s)
- Submit one reference letter
- Additional letter(s)of support(limit two)
- Photos, videos, or other materials showcasing the project
- A high-resolution electronic copy of your logo/crest
All nominations must be submitted to NASCLA by Friday, August 10, 2012
