NASCLA 2017 Annual Conference

The National Association of State Contractors Licensing Agencies (NASCLA) Annual Conference is the association’s premier annual event. NASCLA will be hosting its 55th Annual Conference on August 28 - August 31, 2017 at the Westin Denver Downtown in Denver, Colorado.

NASCLA Investigator Training Program

The NASCLA Investigator Training Program will continue again this year. The program has been extended for 2017 and is scheduled to take place on Monday, August 28th from 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM and Tuesday, August 29th from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM. New topics from the NASCLA Investigator Training Program Module will be taught which include Professional Conduct; Consumer Relations, Mediation and Negotiation Skills; Principles of Administrative Law; and Rules, Regulations Codes and Standards. This will be a great opportunity for agency investigators to receive valuable information from top experts in legal and investigative matters.

NASCLA Attorney Training Program

New this year, NASCLA will be holding an Attorney Training Program focusing on Ethics for the Regulatory Lawyer; this program is scheduled for Monday, August 28th from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Mark Brengelman, Attorney at Law, will provide an in-depth look at understanding the duties of attorneys and those they interact with. This 3-hour course will be a primer on legal ethics for the regulatory lawyer and provide an analysis of the Rules of Professional Conduct as they relate to the government attorney or attorneys who represents a government agency in regulatory law. Additionally, the session will focus on cases involving the Rules of Professional Conduct as they relate to legal ethics for the government lawyer and the duties of those lawyers to the judicial system, the public, clients and other attorneys. Ethics continuing legal education credit will be offered.
